Our staffing standard is one certified lifeguard per 25 swimmers in the water at one time:

  • Up to 25 swimmers — 1 lifeguard provides full coverage

  • 25 to 50 swimmers — 2 lifeguards 

  • 50+ swimmers or multiple pool areas — contact us for a custom staffing plan

What's Included With Every Booking

When you book with Ace Lifeguarding, you're getting a professional guard. Every booking includes a fully certified American Red Cross lifeguard trained in water rescue, CPR, AED, and First Aid. Your guard will arrive at least 10 minutes early to assess the pool area, identify any hazards, and set up before guests arrive. They bring their own rescue tube and cpr kit — you don't need to provide any safety equipment.

Every guard is background-checked, professionally dressed, and focused entirely on water safety for the duration of your event. We carry full liability insurance that protects you as the host. You get peace of mind from the moment we arrive to the moment we leave.

Santa Monica Lifeguard Rates

1 lifeguard — 3 hours (minimum): $240
 

2 lifeguards — 3 hours (minimum): $480
 

Our pricing is straightforward with no hidden fees. A single certified lifeguard starts at $240 for a 3-hour minimum — the most popular option for residential pool parties and smaller gatherings. 

For larger events with more than 25 swimmers in the water at once, we recommend two lifeguards. Two-guard bookings start at $480 for a 3-hour minimum. There are no travel fees for events within the greater Los Angeles area.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I legally need a lifeguard for my pool party in Santa Monica? California does not legally require a lifeguard at private residential pools, but drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children under five and it happens silently and fast. Many condo complexes and private venues in Santa Monica also require a certified guard on duty before allowing organized swimming.

 

Do you serve Venice, Brentwood, and Pacific Palisades near Santa Monica? Yes. We serve all of Santa Monica and regularly cover surrounding Westside neighborhoods including Venice, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, Mar Vista, and Culver City.

 

How far in advance should I book? For spring and summer weekends, book at least 1–2 weeks ahead. For major holidays like 4th of July and Memorial Day, book 3–4 weeks in advance.
