Hi, I'm Acelan — most people just call me Ace.

I'm a certified lifeguard based out of Altadena, CA, and I started this business because I genuinely care about the safety of each guest. Not in a corporate way. In a personal way — which comes from spending years at the pool watching how quickly things can go sideways when no one's paying attention.

Why I started this

I noticed something at backyard pool parties in LA: the host is busy grilling, talking to guests, making sure everyone's having fun — and meanwhile, a bunch of kids are in the water with no one whose only job is watching them. That's not a criticism. It's just reality. Hosting is a lot. Safety shouldn't be one more thing you're juggling. 

I started Ace's Lifeguarding to solve exactly that. You hire me, you stop worrying about the pool. That's the whole idea.

This isn't a staffing agency

When you book through Ace's Lifeguarding, you're working directly with me — not a call center, not a rotating roster of strangers hired off a list. I run this operation personally, and I take every booking.

Every guard I put on an event — including myself — holds current American Red Cross certification in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid, and has passed a background check before setting foot at any event. 

 

What to expect when you book

It's straightforward. You pick your date, time, and duration through the online booking page. I confirm the details. A certified, insured guard shows up — on time, in uniform, ready to work.

We bring our own equipment: rescue tube, first aid kit, whistle. You don't need to provide anything. We follow the industry-standard ratio of one guard per 25 swimmers, and if your event is larger, I'll advise you on the right coverage before you commit to anything.

I serve all of Greater Los Angeles — Altadena, Pasadena, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Malibu, Encino, Calabasas, Manhattan Beach, Torrance, Long Beach, and everywhere in between.

About our team

Every lifeguard on our team is American Red Cross certified in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid. We background check every guard before they work a single event. When we show up to your home, apartment complex, or event venue, you're getting a trained professional — not someone who just knows how to swim.
